Just placed/received my 1st online order. Omg! this is wonderful. Packaging was safe/secure, shipping fast/received in perfect condition and taste is Best!! Ever!! Not overly sweet, just absolutely yummy. I will definitely purchase again and super thrilled I found this company.
I haven't been to the actual store but I love their products!! I keep an eye out and go to specific grocery stores that carry them. Im a chocolate aficionado and it's hard to find chocolate that doesn't have soy as an ingredient. This line is very clean, soy free, and high quality. I especially love the chocolate hazelnut spread. I also like their bars and truffles.
The regular hazelnut spread tastes great. However, I did not like the texture of the sugarless one, even though it tastes great, I just wished the texture was similar to the regular one.
Fine & Raw's factory is located in between the industrial part of Bushwick and Williamsburg so while I wanted to visit it for some time now, there's not much to do around the area so I was always hesitant. I took advantage of their Black Friday sale to stock up on some of my favorites. I called the factory multiple times to confirm the hours; it was difficult to get in touch with someone. Yelp said they were open until 3 and Goggle said until 6. After the 5th call, I was able to get in touch with a staff member who informed me that they were open until 5 and closed for the weekend. Hearing this I rushed over to pick up my order. Upon reaching the factory, I noticed the beautiful exterior which helps distinguish it among the numerous neighboring factories. The inside of the factory looked quaint and cozy. There was sitting for patrons to enjoy their chocolates and chocolate flavored beverages. You can purchase pre made bars and merchandise as well. The order pick up process was quick. I gave my order number to associate who stepped away to inform them I had arrived to pick up my order. In under 5 minutes, my order was brought out to me. They have events around the year, offer tasting tours, and can do private events. I'm considering going on one the tours in the near future.
I'm sure the purveyor of Fine & Raw is tired of any comparisons to Willy Wonka, so I'll just say this is a much more gussied up version of the chocolate factory you may have in mind. You may know that the cacao industry can be fraught with poor working conditions for the farmers and outsized environmental impact. Fine & Raw not only pays their farmers above fair trade wages, but builds long lasting relationships with their suppliers. They're also working towards becoming a fully solar powered chocolate factory. And the chocolate really does taste as good as their ethics sound. I had the joy of touring their facilities recently, and marveled at their huge vats of creamy chocolate and the machines turning them into shiny bars, truffles, and fudge. Every piece I've tried has been some of the best in class. I've got my sights set on their hazelnut spread next and plan to buy gift sets for the holidays this year.
Friday evening. I had no idea a chocolate factory existed in Brooklyn -- how exciting and delightful. We took a short 15 minute walk over, just before close. Upon entering, I could smell the chocolate being mixed in the big vats. The big windows also allowed us to peek into the kitchen/factory to see the action! There's also a cute cafe with bright pink chairs and seating to enjoy your chocolate goodies. I ordered a hot chocolate with almond milk and a hazelnut bar and a sea salt bar. To my surprise, there were also chunks of chocolate under a cloche to try! These were delicious. I love that there are only a few ingredients in this brand of chocolate without any refined sugar -- means it is more satisfying and less addicting than chocolate with added sugar. Such a great place for chocolate lovers!!
